The Artist

Sue DiGioacchino

Gallery Owner, Artist

I am the proud owner of The Patrick House Art Studio & Gallery in Aurora, Ontario. The Patrick House is a charming circa 1860 heritage home and my personal studio space. It is where my company, SDG Designs, calls home. A trained illustrator and artist, I spend my days at the studio creating commission pieces for clients and conducting adult workshops. I’m very fortunate to be able to work in this charming heritage setting. It’s my happy place; it’s where I find my zen. And I love sharing that experience with all who come to visit!

Whether you are an artist or an art lover, I know you will enjoy your time at The Patrick House. We are located at 58 Temperance St. in Aurora, down the street from Bijoy’s restaurant.

At this time, the upper gallery is closed for renovations. However, I am pleased to offer offsite workshops and welcome requests for private groups. Please check the website frequently or contact me for an appointment. Check us out on Social Media!

Creatively Yours,
Sue

The Gallery/Studio

Our journey commenced with a vision aimed at establishing an inviting venue where the community could both appreciate and engage in artistic expression. This establishment features two distinct viewing areas: the upper gallery and the lower gallery. These spaces serve as venues for exhibiting artists’ creations through art exhibitions and sales. Additionally, Sue organizes adult workshops and semi-private lessons within these premises.

The History

The photograph depicts the original cottage, constructed around 1860. Remarkably, the residence was once owned by John Bowser, a local architect notable for his involvement in the construction of the Empire State Building. In the mid-20th century, the Patrick family acquired the property, where they resided for four decades.

The House

In 1993, Sue and Gino DiGioacchino purchased the house and undertook significant renovations. They occupied the premises for several years until its conversion into an art gallery/studio in 2012. During their residency, the DiGioacchino’s christened the house as The Patrick House and commemorated it with an outdoor plaque.
